Some questions for life...

Realization, reflection and thought for future!!!

1. Who am I?

If living only meant for being born in the world and occupying a name, my answer would have been as simple as Anushka Baral. But I feel it's a hollow definition because what lies beyond the name is fully abstract personality.
I am a character, a role, playing some for making people around me happy while being some in order to be successful and glorious just what the world demands for. But saying that, I am not hollow. That is what i love to do, make people happy, be happy and confident. I desire to life a prestigious life with satisfaction and love, I desire to be successful person and work for major IT companies where I can utilize my learning well. I want to make myself beautiful, beautiful what the definition of beautiful for me is confidence, forwardness and peaceful mind. I want to earn a name, not simply occupy one.

2. Where am I?

In my life, I am still a starter. Starter in the sense that I have nothing new to give to the world because I am still not perfect on performing activities regrading to the industry. But being positive, I would say I have taken my step and that is what is required to make a journey.

3.Why am I doing this (assignment)?

Each day, life goes without the second thought of how the day was, what was achieved, what effort had been made to achieve things, how to cope up with life, what do we learn from our text and how are we handling our relationships. This just takes a person  to a road which has no destination but goes on and on for the whole life. Reflection is important for change. Completing this assignment will give me a clear map of my past, present and future making me design a destination at the end of the road.

4.What I am going to be five years from now and in 21 years from now?

5 yrs from now, I imagine myself as a new born to the world who just stepped out of the womb of dependence learning and knowing about the IT industry and focusing more on professionalism  I would have completed my masters and I think I would be enjoying so much of things that education can give me and practicing as many as what I can give back to the world.
21 yrs from now seems so far away when I will be leading my late thirties. Life will be changed from every aspect. I would be enjoying my new life called family life where I will certainly be bound by family matters, decisions and responsibility. Viewing myself after 21 yrs also makes me see myself as in independent and strong lady who has gained many experience about the IT industry and still learning and trying more to cope up with the flourishing technology.

5.What is it that I have to develop myself to be what I should be in next five years and 21 years?

What I imagine to be in future, be it 5 yrs from now or 21 years from now, is being successful in the industry as well as the family. Peace and satisfaction is what leads a life happily. so the first thing i need to work out to reach my designed future is the change in myself. i should be confident and the main weapon for my battlefield should be positivity which will keep me going at hardest of time. Positivity and confident outcomes a good behavior which is an all time requirement, be it professionally or at home. Hard work is the obvious factor and confidence plus positivity will lead it perfectly with an ease.
Being accurate to the question, i require a good degree. My education should make me useful. I should have the knowledge of major programming language such as java and I should also  have a good knowledge about the IT industry.

6. How serious am I to achieve the goal of my life?

I am serious to achieve the goals because that is what will give a meaning to my life. That is what my happiness lies in. For making an outcome to my dream project, I practice what I study. Initially I have been learning web designing and programming stuffs. I find it interesting as it is fun with learn. Being serious for me doesn't mean having a frown on face and hovering all day in front of the computer. Being serious for me is realization of where you were and where have you reached and I realize it well along with a well list plan for goals of my life.

Green IT

Eco-Efficiency and Eco-Innovation for IT

Green IT
The leading innovation and technology development has become a boon to human beings. Technology brings a lot of wonders with it, and also provides a different way to human life. But as they say, everything on this earth has a advantage as well as disadvantage, the technologies are never too good if people don't initiate to work on their negative impacts on earth. IT industry is the most flourishing sector of recent world. But we have never thought what these technologies are made of- chemicals, heavy metal, synthetic materials, toxins? Where are they disposed? How much power are they using? and are we using those technologies to solve some environmental problems?

Change is required to save our earth and this change is necessary. in this blog, i will share a few resolution that i have made in order to contribute in saving and making sustainable use of resources. I can make a change and I believe that some simple efforts of mine can make a difference, if not in the world, but obviously to my generations to come.

Overcharging:Being an IT student, possessing gadgets is very normal,we people have the habit of overcharging electronics which causes loss of energy. Realizing that this habit belongs to me too, i will keep a good note that my electronics are not overcharged.

Electronic waste: it is a fact that our computers and electronics are rich in minerals, chemicals and toxics like antimony, arsenic, boron, phosphor, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen fluoride to name some few. Thus these electronic when thrown anywhere causes severe deterioration of soil, air as well as water resources and finally to human health. Thus i will always send my gadgets to the recycle center if they are of no use to me rather throwing them haphazardly.

Smart purchasing: The flourishing technology has brought up many energy efficient gadgets on the market with proper amount of electricity they use ad utilize electricity more efficiently. Thus proper selection and purchasing of gadgets is important.

Thus, we being IT students should me more responsible to the factors for saving the environment. We should also inform others about the hazards caused by electronics and
thus its proper recycle... Go green, save environment!!!

Roles in my daily life

2.2.4 Different roles I play every day

Every day is a new day and a new experience. Being born as a human, we are assigned with different relationship from the day 1 itself. At first, it is the family that is our world, but as we grow up, we understand that we have to tackle with much more aspect of the surrounding, family, citizen and country. As we grow up, we understand our duties and responsibilities in the family, then slowly when we get the citizenship, we become a citizen of our country which is the starting phase of much more responsibilities and authorities coming on the way.
I feel that to write is to realize more. So in this blog, I will share a day of my life where I perform different roles according to the people and activities that surrounds me.

It’s April 4, 2013. Today I woke up a bit late and due to my assignment and multiple course works, my room was fully messed up. Then came my dad with a soft voice calling me and my brother to wake up and do some yoga and exercise. But as I was already late for my college which starts from 8 o’clock, I could do none. Thus, as expected, my dad was disappointed with me suggesting me to start waking up early and saying “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy wealthy and wise.” I woke my brother, Animesh up and ironed his clothes for school which is my regular duty. So, he is always pleased with it and gives me a lite kiss on my cheek. As I mentioned before, I was late!!! So my room was messed up before I left too. Mom had a small injury on her hand so I had to prepare breakfast for Animesh and me. I let her take rest and she was quite pleased with it but not fully because she would be the one to clean my room at day. But I promised not to repeat and wake up early.

I have a scooter as my transportation. Going to the college obviously needs a lot of attention to the road and there also remains an unannounced duty regarding safe driving as a simple mistake of mine can add up many victims. Thus, driving safe with proper indication throughout the way is necessary. In this case, I try to avoid reaction as people react when something goes wrong, so my duty remains of a good citizen too.

College is a place where different roles are to be played at a time, be it as a friend, sister or a student. I reach college with many calling asking where I’m, and certainly, I have many good friends. Today, was a normal day, the classes went on perfectly as per schedule so our activities was scheduled too. Our teacher, Dr.Fransica Tej was teaching us some real important lessons but as the class was bit noisy, she reacted different today, she was angry at our behavior as usually she is very humble and polite. We were dishearten by seeing her reaction as we love her seeing smile.
Day went by and college finished with friends chit chat and counselling regarding personal affairs and we always end up with a hope to solve things again. Evening time went by helping by mom in the kitchen and coping with my brother’s homework. My mom was relaxed as I provide a good helping hand to her and she becomes much relax. I too involve my father in my course work and any college activities because I love to get help from him and he too will know what his daughter is learning.

Thus, the day passed smiling and trying to make others smile. I have many flaws in me which needs to be improved and every day I start my day fresh with a new enthusiasm and courage, to love and be loved.

Difference between fear and respect.

                                          Fear or respect???

Hello friends, in this blog, I will share the difference between fear and respect. Unlike arrogance and confidence which I discussed in my previous blog, fear and respect can be distinguished quite easily. But most of the people mistaken their fear for respect.

What I believe is that, where there is respect, there is no fear. Respect does not mean u should stay under someone. Respect gives us the opportunity to share our ideas and perspectives. It just that, respect is a way of self-delivering in a proper body language and an approachable voice. It depends upon how you prefer to deliver things. While I believe fear has no platform at all. The people we fear are taken as the powerful elements of the society, who suppress and we would rather follow their commands than express ones.

Let me give you an example. We have been taught from our early day to respect our parents, teachers and elders. We have also been taught not to fear for anything and to learn and live life courageously. But the children never know when their respect towards their advisers had been converted into fear. Most of the children in our country have at least one person they fear to an extent that they actually never take a step without the advice of those people. They never learn to make decision and life choices and always remain backward with fear, mental pressure and disappointment.

Real respect is in empathy and understanding, of two different people on a ground level, looking straight at each other. Not when where one is looking up at the other, and then away, as the other is looking down at him. Respect is always willful and voluntary.
Unlike respect, fear is a purer emotion. It is the recognition that something has the potential to harm you and nothing more. It does not involve the complex mix of attraction and avoidance that respect does, it simply makes people want to get away from the object of fear as soon as possible.

Fear is never good for any one. It makes you feel low. It drops down your confidence and decision making. With fear, nothing sounds possible. Fear is lead with high level of mental pressure which can also lead to depression.

One can always overcome fear. The initial step is obviously hard but when taken, leads our path to glory. If we fear of something, let’s face it and then break it being free and up on our own feet with the birth of self confidence, faith in one self and positive thinking.

Are u confident or arrogant???

Difference between confidence and arrogance

Hello readers, in this blog, I am sharing about the difference between confidence and arrogance, which most people seem to get confused about while judging someone. I will also be giving few ideas about how a person can be confident without being arrogant.
Confidence is a powerful trait. It is the faith that one will act in a right, proper and effective way. It is a feeling of self-assurance arising from an appreciation of one’s own abilities. Confident people are like magnets, they tend to capture the attention, trust and respect of those around them. They believe in themselves, so they take the risks and reap the rewards. Confidence can make you successful!!!
On the other hand, arrogance is the attitude of displaying a sense of overbearing self-importance. An arrogant person has a high opinion on one’s own importance and ability. They also have a strong feeling of superiority over others.

Confidence and arrogance can be marked. In fact they can be marked well, but only by those people who knows the difference. Here are few traits which helps me to distinguish these two kind of personality.
·     A confident person understands other maybe stronger and that every individual is a complete package of strengths and weakness, so they remain humble. But an arrogant person will often neglect to acknowledge his weakness, all they want to do is boast a high opinion about themselves preferring to be a hero.

·    An arrogant person may seem to ignore any areas of weakness and only play up areas of strength, which they often do due to the inability to cope up with their weakness. While a confident person finds root of their confidence in self-acceptance which enables them to handle their flaws with grace.

·      Body language also distinguish between these two personalities. An arrogant person is usually found with swaggering walk and posture that is over commanding and dominating. They are usually aggressive and harder to approach. While, a confident person can adopt open and easy posture that allows others to approach the easily.

If u feel you want to gain the self-confidence without being arrogant, some tips can help you:
  •         Be approachable: Having confidence does not do you good if you become unfriendly because of it.
  •     Be wrong: Being clear about what you know and what you don’t know is usually appreciated by other giving you confidence to face the truth and encouraging to learn and share more.
  •         Be forthcoming: Instead of piling up with your knowledge in your brain, learn to share  it.

Lets be confident, not arrogant, and trust me, confident people seem more pleasing and beautiful !!!

Task 2 : Personality test

My personality test result: 41 questions

Anushka Baral's personality type: "Determined Realist"

Practical, traditional and organized. Likely to be athletic. Not interested in theory or abstraction unless they see the practical application. Have clear visions of the way things should be. Loyal and hard-working. Like to be in charge. Exceptionally capable in organizing and running activities. "Good citizens" who value security and peaceful living.

Careers that could fit me include:

Military, business administrators, managers, police/detective work, judges, financial officers, teachers, sales representatives, government workers, insurance agents, underwriters, nursing administrators, trade and technical teachers.

Relationship profile:

Renowned persons with similar personality types:

  • Andrew Jackson, American president
  • Bette Davis, actress
  • Elliot Ness, prohibition agent
  • George W. Bush, American president
  • Grover Cleveland, American president
  • James Monroe, American president
  • John D. Rockefeller, industrialist and philanthropist
  • Lyndon B. Johnson, American president
  • Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart
  • William Henry Harrison

My opinion about my result in 41 questions:

Well, testing my personality through 41 questions was really interesting. I was more interested when I viewed my results and felt like i am seeing an image of myself being described on the screen. Yes, I am practical, traditional and organized. I am a kind of person who likes to lead rather than being lead. I have patience an am peaceful no matter how hard and frustrated the situation is. I like to handle things in a matured way. I am organized and like my future planned by myself. But hard-work for what i have planned is not enough in which i am really working at.

My response to the personality bar meter section:

Viewing the meter-bar, I agree most part of it but there too are some disagreements. Yea,  I am a extrovert. I cant keep things within myself and rather express it out to people. I think that can solve many problems easily and people can understand be better. The sensing- intuitive and thinking-feeling meter shows an equivalence on both characters. But i feel i am more sensible than intuitive because i look more to the facts. Talking about the thinking-feeling meter, I agree I like to make a balance between them while making any decision.I like thinking practically but feelings are also never ignored. The judging-perceiving meter has a high inclination towards the judging part which I disagree at. I like judging but not just judging. I too act flexibly and adapt and understand dealing with the world. Thus I like to describe myself as a learner of the circumstances, not just a controller. But the overall result of the meter-bar was interesting.

Developing abilities for excellence

An efficient IT performer should have a lot of abilities developed within him to maintain a decent position in the technical programming world. Discussing on lots of areas for improvement , I figured out many flaws I had  done on my previous semester which I intent to improve along with lots of other areas to workout.

Work as a development team member, recognizing the different roles within the team and different ways of organizing teams.

From my experience working as a team leader, I realized team management is not an easy task. A lot of dedication is required to give a shape to the project being performed. Be it a team leader or a member, the limits of hard work and dedication is never limited. So i will improve the leader qualities within me by leading my team well, keeping goals, proper work distribution, team management, time management along with developing skills on the subject materials of the project side by side.

Manage own learning and personal development including using time management and organizational skills with the focus on life long learning and professional development.

Time management is a major ability and working regularly as per the schedule is the way to goal achievement. I am a good planner but not a good performer. So, I intend to give more time on my academics focusing on proper plan on the subject materials I choose to learn on addition, giving an extra hour for vocabulary and personal development. I also will practically perform the things i learn as practical knowledge is a life long weapon of ideas. Professionalism has to be developed with all the things i learn, organizing lessons well and keeping a plan for a bright future.
